January 2020
Dear Fellow Caledonians and friends,Wishing all our Members and Friends a very prosperous 2020. As said in the last Newsletter Mark and I attended the Welkom function on the 16th Dec and were back in the Free State to celebrate New Year with the Federation Chief, Lynette and Federation Lady President Linda, along with Mac and Robbie, a great time was had by all. Lovely weather in Bloemfontein, resulting in lots of time round the pool and a “wee” bit of sunburn.

On a Sad note, we heard of the passing of Duncan & Audrey’s daughter Beverley MacDonald, she passed away on 2nd January 2020, as a result of diabetic complications. Sincere condolences to all the MacDonald family, the Memorial service for Beverley will be held this coming Saturday, January 11th at 10am. Trinity Church, Sunward Park, Boksburg.

Beverley was a Highland Dancer in her younger years and was always a great supporter of Gatherings and other Scottish events. We shall miss her cheery smile at these events.

On with the Next Function “Burns Night” which will be held on the Saturday the first of February, in the Top Hall, at Herbert Park Bowling Club 6.30 for 7pm sharp.
