(A Cultural Scottish Society, Not for gain)
Over this past week, work took us to Cape Town and Bloemfontein, while we were away we were able to share a meal with friends from the Cape Town and Bloemfontein Caledonian societies’. This gave us an opportunity to see and chat up with old friends and make new ones. It is always nice to see a familiar face when traveling.
We would like to extend to our thanks for the wonderful hospitality, and the great reminder of the spirit of community that runs through the Caledonian movement.
Our last function held was a bingo afternoon, which was a cover as we had arranged a farewell for Aunty Helen. This was well attended and an afternoon enjoyed by all. We actually managed to surprise Aunty Helen. A big Thank You to Carol Rens and Craig Rens who ran the Bingo for the afternoon and the rest of the committee who made sure everything else ran smoothly.
Our next function is our Easter Bonnet Parade and Tea on Sunday the 2nd of April, further details are below. Please RSVP to Gavin or myself by the 31st of March 2017.
To those of you who are travelling during the April school holidays we wish you a safe journey. Haste ye back.
