On the 11th of November 2017, we are planning a Rememberance Day, not only for the soldiers of the first two World Wars but also to honour our soldiers who served during the Border War. Along with a wreath laying ceremony we will be unveiling a commemoration plaque in memory of them. A wall of rememberance has been erected where family members/friends can hang a 50mm brass lock engraved with rank, name, date of birth and passing of servicemen who were killed during the war or have since passed.
Attached please find the poster for the day’s events, besides for the wreath laying ceremony there will also be craft and food stalls as well as a display of old vehicles. Entrance is free. Gates open at 10:00am and after a small dedication the wreaths will be layed at 11:00am. Should some of your members want to participate they are welcome to bring a wreath.
